San Francisco defies injunction. No Happy New Year for unhoused

SAN FRANCISCO – MASONIC and GEARY BOULEVARD

Leaving Trader Joe’s on my way to the bus stop I witnessed the following distressing sight.

San Francisco city workers rousting the unhoused and tossing their meagre belongings into trucks. 

I thought there is a Federal Court injunction in place which puts some guidelines in place.

What I witnessed appears to be nothing more than a brazen flouting of the Federal injunction.

Minutes before the City rousted the unhoused – 1.2.2024
An unhoused person can do little but watch as her possessions are unceremoniously carted away.
The cars whiz by oblivious to the disruption being inflicted on the lives of the unhoused.
A San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) worker watches as his co-workers perform their odious job.
